Job Description:
Virginia Beach United Methodist Church seeks a Director of Music who can lead the music ministries of our dynamic and diverse church. VBUMC enjoys a wide variety of music, including adult, youth and children’s choirs, praise band for our contemporary services, hand bells, and orchestra. Applicants should have an appreciation for traditional, contemporary and other sacred musical forms. They must also demonstrate strong managerial aptitude, including excellent leadership, supervisory and administrative skills, and will ideally have experience in a medium / large size church. Last, but by no means least, we seek an individual who possesses grace and teambuilding skills, who is willing to work collaboratively with both staff and congregation, and who can ensure that music continues to be a pillar of our church’s worship and praise experience.
