Contemporary Worship Leader

Job Description:: Southside United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, Florida is searching for a Contemporary Worship Leader. Southside is a vibrant growing urban church with a large children and youth ministry. We are a neighborhood church that ministers to families.

The position entails three broad components:

1) Leading and directing the contemporary worship service. This involves leading and rehearsing the Praise Band, coordinating music with the senior pastor’s message, and recruiting volunteers to participate in the band and in worship leadership.
2) Leading and training the Youth Praise Band. This involves coaching young musicians and selecting appropriate music for their skill level.
3) Managing and maintaining the church’s sound systems and multimedia systems.

Above all, the Worship Leader must have a strong faith in Jesus Christ and excellent leaderships skills. He or she must work closely with the pastors of the church and other staff members.

Compensation and benefits are commensurate with experience and education.
