Position Description: The main responsibilities for this role include assessing, maintaining and managing the technical equipment at Northwoods Community Church. This person will strive to stay on the cutting edge of ministry resources, technology, and building of ministry teams. He/She will work directly with the Creative Arts Director.
Full-Time Exempt
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Administration
Technical: Lead and/or coordinate the Northwoods Creative Arts technical staff and volunteer Teams.
Creative Arts Team: Meet weekly with the Creative Arts Team for communication, coordination, community, and inspiration.
Accountability: Provide weekly and monthly reports to the Creative Arts Director for the purpose of accountability as well as assistance in accomplishing established goals.
Staff Meetings: Attend Staff meetings for global, visionary, and organizational matters.
Leadership: Supervising Technical Staff
Global Technical Production
Global Technical Teams: Build teams of technicians, stage managers, grips, and audio engineers as well as any additional personnel needed to effectively execute all rehearsals and services including Weekend Services, New Community Celebration, productions, funerals, weddings, and other events (Simulcasts, Concerts, etc.).
Develop: Develop maintenance schedules, guidelines, and procedures for technical equipment in the church.
Manage: Manage all technical equipment in the global church including the Auditorium, Discoveryland, Atrium, and Activity Center.
Excellence: Work side-by-side with the Creative Arts Director in developing theatrical technical excellence in the Creative Arts department.
Assessment of technical Resources: Assess, troubleshoot, and upgrade all technical equipment in the global church.
Budget: Prepare, propose, and manage annual technical budget.
Facilitating and Training: Weekly room set-up and training for staff and volunteers.
Phase Development: Work directly with Executive Pastor and Operations Director for continued development of the Northwoods campus.
Volunteer Development
Assimilation, shepherding, and team building.
Volunteer operator development and training.
Build community and provide leadership to the technical team, provide ongoing training to ensure each member is developing to their full potential.
Interaction with Others
The Technical Director will work closely with the Creative Arts Director as well as the other members of the Creative Arts Department staff. He/she will also work closely with volunteers in the creative

This person must be a person with leadership and technical abilities. They should be detail oriented with a critical eye/ear for technical matters. They should be gifted in managing people and processes. Investment into the lives of volunteers is a must. This person must have a great understanding of the seeker mind-set and how the arts and technical support can be used to impact them.
