Qualifications/Education/Experience:

* A 4-yr. college degree (theology or religious studies preferred) plus experience in real life ministry that is relevant/related to spiritual formation and outreach.
* A “calling.” That is, set apart by the Lord for vocational ministry, as well as task driven. The “call” should be confirmed by one of three things:

1. An advanced divinity degree (masters or higher); or
2. Licensing/ordination by Covenant or similar denomination; or
3. A established track record of successful ministry experience (5 or more years preferred).

Job Description:

Faith Covenant, an Evangelical Convenant Church, is seeking a Pastor of Spiritual Formation and Outreach. This person will use their strong interpersonal/relational skills to lead those at Faith to growth as mature followers of Jesus Christ by involving them in effective and meaningful outreach and Christian formation. Empower new and existing teams to do the work of these ministries seeking to follow the great commission and the great commandment.

Specific SFO Pastoral duties include:

* Lead the Spiritual Formation Team to build and promote “Community groups” among attenders and integrate service and outreach into spiritual formation.
* Lead ministry teams to plan and implement local outreach efforts in areas of justice, compassion, mercy and evangelism.
* Lead the mission team to support missionaries and mission organizations and hands-on outreach/service opportunities.
* Lead the "equip team" in providing adult learning opportunities that include a combination of topical/biblical content plus hands-on experiential learning.
* Perform pastoral duties such as pastoral care and counseling, wedding and marriage preparation, baptisms, funerals, and preaching as needed.
* Oversee outreach, connection and formation budgets including limited staff supervision.
* Model outreach and spiritual formation to the congregation by personal involvement.
