Job Description:
MinisterSearch (www.MinisterSearch.com) is searching for a Teaching Pastor/Associate Pastor for an outstanding church in Knoxville, TN. This young church has experienced solid growth and is adding to the Sr. Leadership and Teaching team. This is a great opportunity to be part of a church that balances teaching of the word along with the leading of the Holy Spirit. Being EV Free rooted; the leadership of this church is focused on teaching biblical truth. They also allow the Holy Spirit to lead and move in services. This church believes that the gifts of the Spirit are still alive today and, if used in order, are important pieces to ministry.

This role will share significant teaching responsibilities with the Senior Pastor and oversee another ministry area in the church - preferably the Family Ministry (currently crib to college) and the staff within the Family Ministry.

POSITION TITLE: Teaching Pastor/Associate Pastor
LOCATION: KNOXVILLE, TN
SALARY RANGE: COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE
JOB DESCRIPTION / DUTIES:
Teaching Team Participation:
- An integral member of the weekend teaching team
- Teach in all weekend services approximately 30% of the time
- Collaborate regularly with the Senior Pastor and the Worship Pastor to discern the needs of the church, select topics for preaching, and to create worship/teaching environments that are compelling, convicting, and inspiring
Staff Relationships:
- Report directly to the Executive Pastor for all job responsibilities
- Report to the Senior Pastor regarding teaching and weekend services
- Work in a collaborative manner with the Worship Pastor
- Attend all scheduled Pastoral Staff and ‘All Staff’ meetings.
Other Commitments:
- Participate in a Growth Group.
- Attend a worship service weekly
- Meet regularly with your ‘Care Elder’
- Model a devotional life that is worthy of emulation by others
- Model devotion to your family that is worthy of emulation
Family Ministry Leadership (If over Family Ministry) :
- Assure all areas of the Family Ministry completely align with the mission and values of the church (available through MinisterSearch)
- Have direct oversight of Children’s Director, Middle School pastor, and High School pastor
- Have indirect authority over all paid Children’s staff, interns in Student Ministries and College Ministry
- Provide the leadership required to assure the success of Children’s Ministry, (infants through 3rd grade), Pier 45 (4th and 5th graders), Student Ministry (Middle School and High School), and College/Young Singles Ministry
- Assure pastoral and managerial leadership is being provided for all paid staff and key volunteers in these areas
- Directly manage the Children’s Ministry Director, the Middle School Pastor, and the High School Pastor.
- Endeavor to enhance all of the above mentioned ministries to do evangelism, discipleship, and leadership multiplication so that Jesus Christ is pleased and souls are added to the Kingdom of God regularly
- Aid in the identification, recruitment, and cultivation of leaders

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
-Proven track record of strong ministry leadership
-Experience leading and managing paid staff
-Strong delegation skills
-Experience preaching/teaching (examples required)
-A strong, growing relationship with Jesus Christ
-Personal integrity and moral purity
-Emotional intelligence
-Pastoral/Leadership experience (this is VERY important)
-Experience in "spirit-led" environments (this church believes the gifts of the Spirit are still to be used)
-Exceptional administrative ability and organizational skill
-Enjoy a group creative process
-Warm, enthusiastic, and relational personality, with the capacity to work well with teams
-Pastoral concern and ability to mentor and nurture Christian discipleship
-Strong knowledge of scripture, an interest in theology and, a joy in being led by the Holy Spirit
-Authenticity in witness and testimony
